Warragal Veins and Lanes

We latecomers to Australia have marked out the land with a visual grid; streets, irrigation channels, highways – trying to impose our sense of order on the chaos of the landscape. Each time a grid is laid down an artwork is created. I found the universal symbols of the rectangle, circle and triangle represented on the Warragal lands around Balmain, Sydney; the Town Hall, the streets and the hillsides running down to the water.
