At Home with Personal Artefacts
This body of work is about traversing the South Seas in search of cultural echoes and icons; the influences that go to make the continent of Australia and its place in the South Pacific. The paintings explore our relationship to the land and our journeys across it. - the old routes of trepang collectors, the new routes of Middle Eastern asylum seekers and Australian tourists jetting off to Fiji or Bali.
